Lesson Objective:  Learners will demonstrate knowledge of ability to memorize and then label map of North America and main distinctive features present on a map.



Subject Matter Content Standard:
2.2 Students demonstrate map skills by describing the absolute and relative locations of people, places, and environments. 2. Label from memory a simple map of the North American continent, including the countries, oceans, Great Lakes, major rivers, and mountain ranges. Identify the essential map elements: title, legend, directional indicator, scale, and date.

Assessment: The use of the Internet from this assignment helped promote student learning because students independently searched the web for the appropriate answers to the assignments questions. They were able to discover how to search and view through web pages how and what are the correct answers. I will asses student learning through this assignment by having students label a blank map with where the Great Lakes and countries are by name of the continent North America.
